That don't kill me...will make me stronger

Preston had his surgery on Thursday! Surgery went really well and the surgeon was very happy with how everything went. Although his hip was out of the socket, his femur head stayed rounded and his socket wasn't too shallow. I guess only time will tell but we are very thankful that everything went smoothly.

Preston is in a full spica cast. It's weird but I wasn't shocked by it nor scared by it. I guess all the researching I did before the surgery made all the difference. As for Preston, he is little cranky and clingy but it's getting better everyday. I think he is fine until he realizes that he can't move his legs then he freaks out. But for the most part, he is doing really well and he is almost getting back to his normal happy self.

Henry and I are finding creative ways to make him stay comfortable and trying to treat him as normal as possible. Diapering has not been too bad but we are tyring to keep it from soiling the cast as much as possible. We are pretty tired though as Preston has been getting up every 3-4 hours during the night, probably b/c he's not very comfortable. They say babies get used it by the 2nd week or so.

Here are some pictures

All Better- yay!!!

Preston is back to his happy old self but I am not sure if the surgery if going to be definate tomorrow as he does have some lingering cough. I am going to be really disappointed if the surgery doesn't happen but I have realize that all things happen for a reason.

We should know after our preop appointment today. Here are some fun pictures of Preston.

I could not resist putting his hair in a pony tail! kee.. kee.

Pink eye and his very first cold

After attending daycare for only 3 days, Preston caught a cold and a pink eye! He was miserable and I almost had a nervous breakdown worrying about him! :( I am much better now. In hindsight, I probably over reacted and got myself worrying too much.

Preston has been a very good eater and we really didn't have any issues with him eating. When he got sick, he didn't want to eat very much and I was forcing him to eat. Which in most cases resulted him throwing up on me! I think his appetite is back and he hasn't thrown up in 4 days now. I think he is almost back to his old self except, he is still coughing and his eye is still oozing some nasty stuff.

His surgery is this Thursday and I am not sure if they will do a surgery on a baby that has a cold. I am so ready to get done with this surgery but I want to make sure it's safe for him to go under general anesthesia as well.

Now that Preston is much better, Henry is sick! Damn daycare! I think we might have to reconsider what to do about childcare.

Poor thing... This was when he was so sick and miserable last week.

March of Dimes Walk 2008

We walked the MOD walk this weekend. It was so much fun and we got to connect with lots of Preston's friends from the NICU. It so wonderful to see how well all of them are doing!
