4 more weeks in the Spica!!!

Gosh, it's been awhile since I updated this blog! I have been super busy with work and just being a mom! :) I dream of the day where I can sleep 10 hours straight without being interrupted.

Let's see what's been happening...

Preston had 2 cast changes. Just yesterday, he went in for the last cast change. We have 4 more weeks in the cast! These 2 months have gone by fast but not fast enough. Henry and I have adjusted well to the Spica and so has Preston but we are all ready for the spica to come off.

Despite the spica, Preston is still a very happy little boy. I say "boy" now as he is no longer a "baby". My baby is growing up.

He is doing so much better on his tummy. His PT and I are so impressed. He actually tries to crawl when you put on his tummy!

He has about 4-5 words that he has mastered. "ma ma", "da da", "ba ba", "na na" and some words I can't really understand! He also loves to laugh out loud and make funny faces!

He loves to clap and give high fives! He only likes to wave "hi" and "bye" when he feels like it!

Another thing he loves to do is pretend like he is washing hands. My MIL taught him this so when we tell Preston to wash hands, he puts his hands together and pretends like he is washing hands. I love this stage of development. He is so much fun to interact with!

Not so fun at this stage is the whole separation anxiety thing. For about a week or so, he would freak out as soon as I left the room. It was constant crying and being clingy to me. He also would not go to sleep unless I held him. It was really tiring for us so we tried the cry out method. The first night, he cried for 45 min straight! I was so heart broken but it got better each night. Now I put him in the crib and he is asleep in 5 min without crying or being fussy.

He is eating solids but he LOVES his formula! We are trying to get him to eat more solids so that we can slowly wean him down on formula then hopefully start him on cow's milk or soy milk.

Oh yeah- finally after more than year of pumping, I finally quit! It felt so good to return the pump! But I am glad I was able to do for this long and provide Preston with my milk!:)

We also started him back at daycare. I think he kind of got bored at home. First week was tough for him and I don't think he liked being at daycare. But the second week, the teachers commented how much better he was and how interactive he was with other babies. I think in the long run, it will do him some good.

That's it for now... Hopefully I can update more often!
